1376? Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}18/MH.{M. Huckerby} 23rd. May, 1939. Messrs. Cornercroft Ltd., Ace works, Queen Victoria Road, COVENTRY. For the attention of Mr. Rycroft. Dear Sirs, You will remember some time ago making up for us a set of wheel centres and separate outer discs to cover our steel wheels. As we told you at the time we like the appearance of these very much, but we soon found out that the method of holding on the outer disc by three springs was unsatisfactory. We have since tried welding this outer disc to the wheel, but the subsequent distortion noticeable by the irregular, light reflection in the wheel put welding out of court. We wonder whether you can think of a way of holding this disc on, as we are very keen to retain it, if possible, from the appearance point of view. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
