AC6 - Centricast Bearings. -------------------- Further to our investigation on Thursday afternoon concerning the AC2 bearing that has been found in a box containing AC6 Centricast Bearings that are to be built in an experimental engine, we would definitely state as follows:- (1) No AC2 Bearings have been centricast. (2) All Centricast Bearings in AC6 have been forwarded, tied together, in one bundle to avoid mixing to the Machine Shop. The bearing in question in the metal bin is not centricast but made from the normal gravity billet. This has been proved by the fracture. Further, the bearings in the bin in question were examined and firstly analysed and found to be:- (a) AC6. (b) Centricast when fractured. This infers that the bearings have been mixed in the fully machined condition. [Signature] | ||
