HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} X8992 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/M14.11.30. 27-EX. You will see that SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} has agreed to our letting Park Ward have the chassis on certain terms which we think we can adhere to. We leave it to you to see that the only visible special features on the car are the bonnet radiator and dash. If you are fitting the flattened controls we shall have to tie them up with a piece of rag, but as R.{Sir Henry Royce} has criticised these and they have to be corrected, we think it would be as well not to fit them. With respect to the centrally vented tank we are posting you this in a day or two, but we do not wish it fitted to this car as it will interfere with the coachwork which has been made for a standard tank. Moreover we think it is a thing that will need experimenting with before it is satisfactory. If you have any doubt about the secrecy at P. W. we suggest that you might like to let a man stay with the chassis while it is there, or at least call there every other day during the week they have it. This would have the double effect of keeping them on the job and at the same time see that they kept it secluded. However we do not think that is really necessary.
