Modified Throttle Spring. Phantom 2.

We wish to point out that our reasons for issuing LeC.3412 - 17.3.33 are that the load thrown on the throttle spindle bearings is only a small percentage of the load on these bearings due to the pressure difference on the throttle valve with the engine running slowly, and we, therefore, do not think it worth while to transfer the throttle spring to the underside, more particularly as we wish to use the stronger spring shown on LeC.3412 which would result in having to carry a heavy load always on the throttle bearing except when slow running.

We always prefer to have the spring arranged in opposition to the throttle control rod so as to minimise the wear and subsequent leakage at the throttle spindle bearing. We, therefore, wish to test LeC.3412 as soon as possible to find out if it is satisfactory in controlling the throttle under slow running conditions.
