Dear Sirs, We put on record here that we have sent you one Distributor, our type DUL6A, having special cast flange to meet your requirements. This will be followed by a further two Distributors in the course of the next day or so. We also record having sent to you, two WTLLX Wind Tone Horns, flares only; these flares are examples of a proposal to combat heavy snow and driving rain. It will be noted that these flares are slotted half way between the opening and the bead, which normally takes the wire gauze. A test has shown that this is quite effective in (A) The snow in driving through the gauze is melted and drained out through the slots (B) in the event of the gauze becoming completely stopped, this slot is sufficient for the horn to emit quite a considerable volume of sound. We should be pleased if you would make arrangements to have these flares fitted on to Horns on one of your staff cars at your very earliest moment, and let us have your comments regarding the performance of the horns. Please note that the wire gauze shows the brass in some spots, but as these flares are the only pair in existence and are for test purposes, we trust you will use them in spite of this defect in the finish of the wire gauze.
