CALORSTATS.

We understand that it is essential that we
should obtain delivery of calorstats to avoid production
being held up. We therefore recommend that the first
production quantity of calorstats should be obtained with
the filling specified as 'B' by the makers in their letter
of the 14th. inst. The characteristic of the thermostat
is as follows :-

LOADS MEASURED
.250 FROM BOTTOM OF STROKE

Temperature
Degrees Cent:
20 Minus 40
30 " 36
40 " 30
50 " 24
60 " 16
70 " 5
80 Plus 8
90 " 25
100 " 47

We have so far had this calorstat on test only
one day. We have not made any comprehensive tests on it.
We therefore recommend that the minimum quantity of
Calorstats are ordered as it may even now be necessary
to change the filling.
