I spoke to Sg {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} about this this morning, having heard from BY that it was Sg {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} 's wish that we should not apply the improved illumination to the instruments for the Bentley. Ogh. however, agrees that we should endeavour to introduce this improvement on the Bentley but not of course ahead of the R-R. {Sir Henry Royce} We have had certain criticisms of the illumination of the Bentley instruments, and we do feel that, as the concave lighting as applied to R-R instruments is obviously an improvement over what we have been having in the past, it should also be an improvement in the case of the Bentley. We would therefore ask you to please proceed with experiments in connection with this so far as Bentley instruments are concerned, so that it can be introduced as soon as possible after it is introduced on R-R cars.
