For the attention of Mr.W.A.Robotham.

Dear Sirs,

In reply to your letter of the 8th instant, we regret that when writing to you on the power factor, we overlooked the very vital differences between your proposed installation and the wind channels we had in mind.

The figure of .68 x ½ ρ A V³ is a safe one to take for the open jet wind tunnel of the regenerator type, where the air is collected and used over and over again. You, of course, will be exhausting into the open and the best figure you could possibly hope to do with a good fan is 1.25 x ½ ρ A V³, so that a motor of about 70 h.p. is indicated.

We are sorry we have put you to the necessity of writing us, but we are at the same time grateful for your having pointed out what was after all rather a stupid oversight on the part of the writer.

Yours faithfully,
for BOULTON & PAUL, LIMITED.

A.{Mr Adams} G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} ODGERS.
