X1328 To RHC. {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Std.2/JH.6.1.36. Thermostatically Controlled Bonnet Louvres for Ph.III We have tested the single bonnet side with thermostatically controlled shutters which you have built for us, and we also have carried out road tests measuring under-bonnet temperatures, both on Ph.III cars and on Lincoln car. As a result of these tests, we do not think it worth continuing with the scheme as long as the water temperature is controlled by radiator shutters. E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} is in agreement with us on this point. Will you therefore please suspend work on the scheme and fit 36-EX car with a standard bonnet with standard locks.
