To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. c. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} BJ c. EY. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} X-N90 EFC3/T6.12.27. MUSHROOM TYPE H.T. ROTOR. We are putting this type of rotor on the two cars for 10,000 mile test to work in conjunction with the scrubbing action for the points to LeC.2460. As we have remarked, we feel that it would be better from the point of view of preventing corrosion inside the distributor, if this mushroom rotor were provided with vanes in such a way as to cause a definite impelling effect on the air in the distributor head. Looking into this matter one gets the impression that there is very little room for vanes either on the inside [handwritten 'under' above 'inside'] or the top side of the rotor. We wondered if W.W. could produce a design of this rotor which would provide such vanes, as we think if that were possible that it would really make a better job. EFC. | ||
