BENTLEY 60. WATER PUMP, DYNAMO AND FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING.

Please receive herewith :-

E.CD.1077 Modifications to Water Pump, Dynamo Stay and Front Engine Support - Bentley 60.

The alterations to the water pump are :-

(a). Boss added to the pump casing for a fixing stud for the dynamo stay, as the present fixing for the stay is too flexible allowing movement of the dynamo on its supporting bracket as reported by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}

(b). The outlet end of the volute has been opened out to improve the entrance flow of water to the header pipe in cylinder block, to give better cooling to number (1) cylinder and exhaust valve.

The modification to the engine front support bearing consists of milling the metal away adjacent to the two upper fixing studs, to give increased clearance allowance for engine to settle down on the rubber support bushes.

The alteration to the water pump casing should be brought in as soon as convenient, and the alteration to the engine support bearing should be made to existing and future parts.

Will you please detail and instruct the new parts experimentally.

We will send a scheme for stiffening the dynamo stay fixing on the existing water pumps shortly for use until the new water pump casings are available.
