Att: Mr. F.{Mr Friese} D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Smith.

Gentlemen:

We wish to apologize for the unusual delay which has occurred in connection with your order #13033 covering two sets of supercharger gears.

You will understand that it is somewhat difficult to make one or two sets of gears where the service for which the gears are intended is quite exacting. We had some difficulty in getting sets that we thought would be satisfactory to you but now that we are tooled up for the job there should be no difficulty in furnishing you as many sets as you might require.

We are enclosing herewith, blueprint C-80556, showing a change as made by the Graham-Paige Motor Corporation in the worms and worm wheels and which change was incorporated in the sets which we sent you. The change covers the substitution of a 3/32" hole in the worm shaft in lieu of the #60 hole which was their standard practise at the time that they furnished you your chargers. This change in size was considered advisable in order to prevent the hole from becoming clogged with foreign matter. No failure occurred from the use of the smaller hole but they found on certain service parts that the holes were clogged and consequently made the change. It is suggested that you could use the same shaft and plug one side of the hole, as otherwise the larger hole might affect the pressure on your forced feed.

Hoping that you will find the gear sets satisfactory and again apologizing for the unusual delay in furnishing them, we are

Yours very truly,
MICHIGAN TOOL CO.

J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} C. Drader,
Chief Engineer.
