In connection with Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}5/N.19.8.38. we wish to delete the central hole in the distance piece between the spring and the split pad, so as to take the spring chamber out of the capacity of trunk oil line. The idea of this is that if any oil is lost from one or more of these joints, which are under the full oil pressure, as it can be, a less quantity will be required to replace it. The split in the pad then provides a direct oil way to the centre of the joints, and the upper pad in as direct a fashion as possible. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
