No.14 is a further and final test on tungsten points run with the maximum value condenser, but otherwise old standard conditions. No.41 has been run with the U.S.A. Bosch central H.T. coil on our old standard make and break. No.42 was run with the nearly closed iron circuit coil, also on our old standard make and break. It will be noted that these results are only in the same street with the old results which were obtained on our own coils with the absence of scrubbing action.

In addition to the combination of scrubbing action and mushroom rotor, we have also the following now on test :-

Thinner (.050" in place of .064" anvil), as asked for in E3/M22.11.27, on the otherwise newly standardised make and break with scrubbing action.

This we think will cover the experimental work on tungsten points. There remains the question of coil quantities to be further considered in the light of our new experience with contact points, because there appear to be some indications that the old coarser primary coil will be equally good with the present tungsten points and have certain advantages in other directions, it being remembered that our reason for reducing the coil consumption by increased primary fineness and ballast resistance was from the point of view of reducing the deleterious action of the points.
