E, from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/R.25.6.37. CENTRIFUGAL SUPERCHARGER ON PUSH ROD BENTLEYS. The difficulty of putting a centrifugal supercharger on an overhead valve engine was clearly demonstrated by the 'mock-up' made in this Department, and we know that it has given you considerable trouble in formulating a design. In order to overcome the trouble of the carburetter hitting the bonnet top, the Lammas Graham people fitted an adaptor which permitted the use of a horizontal carburetter instead of a down-draught type fitted to the Graham. We, therefore, wrote to Kishline to find out whether this arrangement upset the distribution, or whether it had the blessing of the Parent Co. We have now received a reply, and a blue-print of their adaptor, which we hand you herewith, from which you will see that this seems to be quite a satisfactory arrangement.
