re. 20-HP. Chassis Steering.

We have recently had one or two complaints during our final test of complete cars at Coachbuilders that the steering suffers from low speed wobble, which we have only been able to cure by increasing the load of the cross steering tube.

I have also found that even on a new chassis on test during the last week the steering was on the light side, and was somewhat unstable and inclined to have low speed wobbles.

I also found that the steering of the Experimental 20-HP. Landaulet car was bad in this respect, about which I complained to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}

I have now received a note from Sales as under, and shall be glad therefore if you will go into the matter and let me have your comments, which will enable us to deal with this satisfactorily:-

"On a number of 20-HP.cars I have tested lately one gets the impression that the steering is very near to wobbling, and that after the car has run for 1,000 miles or so one would imagine that the chances of wobbling become very acute".
