1282 To D {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} /L. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /FD. {Frank Dodd - Bodies} 3/ML.12.2.40. re Shardlow Garage. We have taken Mr Williams, Petroleum Officer, to inspect the Petrol Store at Shardlow and as a result of his visit he expressed his satisfaction with our arrangements there. We find from him, however, that we pay 15/- per year insurance which covers us for 1,000 gallons. We should like you to increase this to £1. This would enable us to store up to 5,000 gallons if need be, the only stipulation being that we let Mr. Williams know what amount we propose going up to. It is not our intention of storing anything like this amount, but we should like to be covered for a hundred or so over the 1,000 gallons. If you made the Insurance £1 and let Mr. Williams know that at odd times we may fluctuate between 1,000 and 1,500 gallons everyone would be satisfied and we should be fully covered.
