Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd.,
Nightingale Road,
DERBY.

For the attention of Mr. R.W. Harvey-Bailey.

Dear Sirs,

Regarding your Order No. 14022 of March 27th, in which you ask us to alter the 2 Springs to a higher poundage whilst retaining the same deflection due to load.

These 2 Springs were received in our works this morning.

We have gone carefully into the position and find that it is not possible to alter these springs without increasing the number of leaves either to 12 or 14.

On attached list, spring marked (A) gives particulars of these existing 2 Springs and also Springs B or C, which are our recommendations.

You will observe that with the exception of the mainplates in (C) these springs will be entirely new.

Please let us know which design, (B) or (C), you would prefer.

suggest (C)

Yours faithfully,
THOS. FIRTH & SONS, LIMITED.

Director.
