We have decided on another arrangement of circuits.
It is simpler, more easily understood, and more robust.
The feature is that the switchbox has nothing to do with the charge, and there is a separate charging switch, and the C. is deleted from the switchbox.
The chief thing that has made us decide this is that the green light scheme will result in the driver using the charging switch when the dynamo is on full amperes, and therefore much more liable to burn the switch.
If a separate switch is used it can be more robust, and can be made proof against burning, and gives us all the facilities we need - i.e. of running either or both ignitions without and without charge.
The only disadvantage is that the separate switch should be turned 'off' (if not already) when car is garaged, and 'on' when taken out, but the auto. charging switch will do the former if the driver forgets, and if he omits to turn on the ammeter shews.
