PHANTOM CHASSIS.

FRONT AXLE CONTROL DAMPER SEC:7160.

Further to our memo' BY/HEB{H. Biraben}14/M.6.1.28, by which we issued Cover F.78303 for the Damper Ball Bearing Housing in place of Cover F.77131 in order to obtain clearance for dismounting the Damper, and asked you to have a Damper tried on a Phantom Chassis to ascertain if sufficient clearance is now available.

Kindly note that by our Alteration No:10183/F.{Mr Friese} we have slightly altered certain details to permit of a .150 reduction in the length of the shaft thereby further increasing the clearance.

Will you therefore please instruct that these modifications together with the improved cover are to be embodied on the Damper which you try on a chassis.

We are instructing that the lug on the Crankcase for Jig Location is to be removed before the Crankcase is assembled as this lug would absolutely prevent the Damper from being removed.
