Description of Parts: EXTRA HOLE IN EACH CRANK JOURNAL OPPOSITE TO EXISTING. GROOVES ENLARGED IN INTERMEDIATE MAIN BEARINGS.

Origin: Big end failure in France. Endurance run at 1/4 load, invariably No.2 or 5 big end giving trouble.
Report of Experimental Test. In reproducing failure with Hall's metal big end bearings under special running condition at 1/4 load with improved lubrication and big improvement affected in not siezing.
As tested on bench no alteration to oil consumption ensures that Nos. 2 and 5 have some lubrication as other big end bearings.
