For your information, one of the pistons of this car seized while the owner was proceeding from Bordeaux to Arcachon. We have sent a tester mechanic to carry out temporary repairs and bring the car back to Paris. We are expecting the car to-morrow or the day after. The owner telephoned to us yesterday and said that he drove the car from Paris to Bordeaux at a fairly high speed and that it was while driving from Bordeaux to Arcachon that the trouble occurred. At the time of the seizure, he was apparently driving full out and had been doing so for several kilometres. He is going to call upon us and has promised to give us more information. He mentioned that the oil pressure was functioning satisfactorily. We have written to Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} Upon the matter and have asked him to arrange to have the necessary parts, etc.. sent to us. For your information, this car has covered about 16.000 Kms. We carried out an R.10 engine clean on the 6.4.36, after the car had covered 15.191 Kms. We are rather worried about the above having taken place, as it is the second piston seizure within a short period. As soon as we have had a chance of examining the engine we will endeavour to give you more information upon the matter. VA.VD | ||
