47720 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} . re 21-EX. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}2/E20.6.29 I notice that this car is not fitted with a red warning light for the indication of boiling, and although this car was sent up as an exmaple of the "SS{S. Smith}" that will be manufactured, I hope that the adbsence of this fitting is merely an oversight on this particular car. On this particular car there is frequent popping in the silencer when the accelerator pedal is released. I understood from memos. I had seen that this feature which was troublesome on Phantoms had been overcome, but on this car it is much worse than on Phantoms. The reports from the various people who have been trying the car are now coming in and I will deal with these collectively, but should like to have information on the above two points by return.
