Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Les6/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 16th July, 1937. Silentbloc Limited, Victoria Gardens, Ladbroke Road, Notting Hill Gate, W.11. For the attention of Mr. Harris. Dear Sirs, We have got your bushes now fitted into our Packard car, and have taken preliminary thrust deflection figures. At the moment, it appears that your bushes are considerably inferior in thrust capacity compared to the Inlox bushes, but as our tests have had to be curtailed owing to our holidays, we are not satisfied with the result. We took 4 sets of figures and each one was different. Anyhow, we are going to give the car some running, and then take some further sets of figures. We should be very interested to hear your comparisons of the two types of bushes. We are anxious for 6 of our standard Bentley shock absorber link ball ends to be sent to you, so that you can try to fix up a rubber link which has sufficient angular movement in both directions. Yours faithfully, For ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
