S.U.Carburetters

In E.11/HP.28.6.34 to SG{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} and NOR, you give full details of the position re the S.U.Carburetters we have adopted, with modifications, for the 20/25 HP. Rolls. From same it would appear the S.U.people would be satisfied with fitment of a plate, and a plate only, in recognition of their interests in the matter.

Apparently, however, the S.U.Company want a Royalty also, and from E's subsequent remarks I gather that when discussing this question with himself and Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, Mr. Skinner suggested an inflated figure for the needles we shall require.

In a communication to hand from the S.U. Company this morning, Mr. Skinner raises the question again.

If we are in agreement that they are entitled to a Royalty in the matter, I propose asking him now to make his proposals. In any case it is important an early decision be arrived at, as Shops will want bulk supplies of needles immediately. Fortunately Mr. Skinner has agreed release of 50, and same were received here on Saturday morning (7th).

Will E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} please advise.

ROY.{Sir Henry Royce}
