Please note that R.{Sir Henry Royce} has definitely decided to remove the dynamic restrictors from the SS.{S. Smith} hydraulic dampers. We should therefore cancel all these parts which are on production. In order to compensate for the dynamic restrictors the working pressure is to be put up 50% on both high and low pressure/sides, as called for in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}'s note handed to you this morning. For the present we will have to carry on with the shock dampers as they stand, but now that the restrictors have been removed we anticipate that DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} will have to give us a modified design to make the design consistent with our requirements. In view of the foregoing it would appear that for the moment we should restrict ourselves to 50 sets of the present type of shock dampers, but this restriction must not be a hard and fast one, as the Works may have to go farther, and we therefore propose to leave the present shock dampers on order and leave it to the Works to not get ahead of their actual requirements.
