Re Shuttered Bonnets.

Na{Mr Nadin}/S7/LG23114.      23.1.14.

In reply to your memo Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/Mcr2/021114 in which appeared Mr.Hive's report with regard to shuttered bonnets, we wish to point out, before communicating his remarks to Mr.Johnson, that they are unsatisfactory; the statement therein being ambiguous and there being no definite decision.

It is suggested in the report that we should fit shuttered bonnets instead of plain bonnets although at the same time it is stated that there is no appreciable difference whether the shutters are either open or closed. Further it is stated that the shuttered bonnet is an advantage over the louvred as the shutters can be closed in cold weather, but according to the test the temperature is no different whether the shutters are open or closed.

We shall be glad to have your further remarks on this matter as we wish to communicate some definite conclusion to Mr.Johnson.
