Re - Needle Valve Trouble - 7-CA. X.3225

We have come to the conclusion here that the trouble with the needle valve on 7-CA is due to the impact received by the needle valve by the petrol flowing quickly during the discharge of air in the pipe and after the needle valve is carried into a high position the weight of this is insufficient to overcome its friction and stop the rush of petrol created by the pressure in the tank which we find, in this case, is probably higher than usual owing to the gauge reading low.

Mr. Elliott is sending our suggestions to render this being less possible in future. It has only happened in the case of 7-CA owing to the presence of the special arrangement of piping in connection with the small test tank.
