Dear Sirs,

Magneto for 20 H.P. Car.

We duly received yours of the 11th inst. with attached test report. May we take it from this that you will be submitting to us experimentally a type R.O.1 magneto with rather different characteristics from standard ?

You will remember that we sent to you, dated 29.3.28, a Specification of Performance of magneto for R.R. 20 HP. car. The present standard magneto does not comply with this specification in regard to -

(a) Safety gap.
(b) Low speed sparking.
(c) Leak test.

but has a range as great as 59⁰, whereas this could be as low as 50⁰.

One suggestion is that you should submit to us a 50⁰ range sleeve magneto which complies more nearly with our specification.

A second suggestion is that you should produce a sleeveless magneto of cheaper construction, but one which will, at the same time, comply with said specification.

(1) Contd.
