RECEIVED 1931 JUN 8 X5410. from Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}5/T18.6.31 Low Rated Springs for 20/25HP Chassis. Chassis GOS-59 and others. I have had a telephone message from Evans this morning to say that GOS-59 has had the low rated springs fitted and in his opinion the car is unsatisfactory at high speeds, it rolls badly and the steering control is poor, and it is not in a fit condition to pass to the customer who is waiting for it. In the absence of definite instructions from you for the necessary modification of shock absorbers as asked for in memo Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}7/T9.6.31, I am sending to Mr Brock a complete set of shock absorbers to be modified similarly to the ones on 17-G-IV. I understand from By/Cgh{W Clough} on the 'phone this morning that he is still waiting for definite recommendations from the Experimental Dept.
