File Feakes 1158 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards}6/CH.23.2.40. 23rd February 1940. Messrs. M.C.L. & Repetition Ltd., Pool Lane, Langley, Birmingham. Dear Sirs, FOR THE ATTENTION OF MR. J.D. BEARD. --------------------------------- Many thanks for yours of the 19th instant., and we regret not having replied before. We note that you consider you could make us up a sample switch from production pieces, and we should be very interested to put such a switch on test. You will of course appreciate that we do not require any locking device. We observe from your enclosed sketch that your switch has actually four positions including an "off" position. Our requirements, however, are simply for an "off" position, a "low" position and a "full on" position. Regarding your other queries we will answer them in the order quoted in your letter. 1. We could make room behind the instrument board for a switch body approximately 1 1/4" diameter by 5/8" deep. These dimensions may be modified very slightly to, say +- 1/8" if necessary. 2. As you surmise the switch will be mounted at the back of the board and the operating knob only would project through. This knob would preferably be made in black Bakelite. - continued - | ||
