R.R. 40 mm. NAVAL GUN & MOUNTING.

We are at present looking upon the gun and mounting as one unit, but I think we should henceforth regard them as two separate units, i.e. guns and mountings and that this should apply to projects, design, estimating, manufacture, etc.

This will enable us, at a later date, to build up different combinations of guns and mountings as required by customers, the case being analogous to chassis and body on car work.

If you concur, I will issue the necessary instructions.
