Herewith please receive copy of particulars of windings, insulations, &c., of the following battery ignition coils :- (1) 12 Cylinder 6 volt Remy coil. (2) 6 " 6 " " (3) Delco coil from Packard car. These particulars have been furnished by Mr. Ellis as a result of taking down one of each of these coils and examining the parts. We have added the diagram of connections, and one or two figures, (particulars of turns and step up ratios.) We are making one or two further measurements on these coils and will issue notes on the comparison between the Remy 12 and the Remy 6 cylinder coil shortly. pushing [handwritten annotation] As regards the R.R. battery ignition we are going ahead with this, and at the present moment instructions from the D.O. are about 90% completed. We have asked for two experimental R.R. coils to be made with the inside end of the secondary brought out to a second high tension terminal so that we may make definite experiments as to the effect of various arrangements of connections on the resulting secondary spark and also on the sparking at the points. also on the engine [handwritten annotation] Contd..
