Further to your letter of the 28th December, Ref: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg.{J. C. Bowring}3/KW., which has been replied to by our Engineer, as mentioned in the writer's earlier letter we rather anticipated that the lighter design of Jackall ram, whilst satisfactory for normal use, would not stand up to a destructive test as that mentioned in your letter. We are making up immediately, heavier rams, slightly longer in length to overcome your criticism. As regards the question of bracket clamps, we take it that in the event of your favourably considering Jackalls you would supply your own bracket clips. Meantime, we would inform you that we have supplied quite a few of the particular design clip fitted to your Demonstrator and they have proved satisfactory. We can only conclude from your report that the clip under notice was not adjusted tightly before the Car was delivered to you. We would explain that had it not been for our anxiety to conform with your wishes regarding the question of weight, we should not have fitted the lighter type of ram.
