In reply to your memo E/PHD1/G10614,

we give below Mr Hives suggestion.

"For a very fast car I should recommend
"an engine built up with the same compression
"and parts as Mr Radley's Austrian Trials
"car. This had 70 lbs compression, Conn.
"Rods E.3718, Pistons E.4213, L-E carburetter
"with larger throats, Valve Springs E.4247.
"This makes a nice fast touring car.
"For pure speed work we could obtain more
"power by fitting a larger induction pipe
"and carburetter and still higher compression.
"We shall have completed the 10,000 mile
"bench test by early next week with the rods
"E.3718 and Pistons E.4213.
"I should advise a larger carburetter
"in preference to an extra air valve in
"the induction pipe."
