LTD. WORKS: LONDON & CHIPPENHAM. 82, YORK ROAD, KING'S CROSS, LONDON, N.1. OUR REFERENCE 7096 YOUR REFERENCE 10th November 1926 Messrs. Rolls Royce, Ltd. Derby. Dear Sirs, Westinghouse Air Springs for Rolls Royce Car. With further reference to your letter of the 29th Sept. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RN{Mr Robinson}3/LG, and following letters of 5th and 7th October, we have heard from our friends the Westinghouse Air Spring Co. and have pleasure in enclosing blue print DAH126 shewing the Highway Model spring installation. The only objection to this installation is that it is necessary to cut back the frame further from the end in order to get satisfactory air spring operation. We also enclose photograph shewing a Packard car with the air springs installed which will give you an idea of the appearance of the equipment. You will notice that provision is made on the air spring for attachment of the conventional type bumper. The rear bar of same is shewn on the drawing in a shaded section where it is clamped. If you approve of the suggestions in the drawing we shall be pleased to furnish a complete equipment with necessary instructions for installation free for your inspection and tests. Awaiting the pleasure of hearing from you further. Yours faithfully, THE WESTINGHOUSE BRAKE & SAXBY SIGNAL CO. LTD. T. Barty | ||
