Xr539 We attach a report of our recommended cure for complaints of inefficient brakes. Oil on the servo is the general cause of inefficiency. In order to prevent oil reaching the servo linings, we are experimenting on 19.G.IV. on the servo GL.{G. Linnett}609 in which the fabrics are fully floating, totally enclosed, and not stapled. This servo is very well protected from oil, so well that attempts to dope a squeaking lining were unsuccessful as no oil reached the lining. We think also that we have a new lining developed at Ferodo's that is consistent and needs no running in. We are fitting this combination to several cars for further test. It is also possible that this lining is more suitable for existing servos on which we hope shortly to report. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
