Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GR.{George Ratcliffe}8/MH.{M. Huckerby} 1033 29th. November 1937. Messrs. The Zenith Carburetter Co. Ltd., Honeypot Lane, Stanmore, Middlesex. For the attention of Mr. Turner, General Manager. Dear Sir, 30 HP. D.C.42. Ref. TLT/GD. We are pleased to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 26th. inst. With further reference to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}467, please find enclosed print. We have taken the idle air bleed direct into the float-chamber in line and continuation of the horizontal section of the feed passage with equally good results. We think you will agree that this is much more in keeping with your design than the cut joint method. May we add that this air hole is 1/8" clear of fuel level on a gradient of 1 in 5. The writer will make it clear to depots that all modifications to carburetters already delivered must be carried out by your goodselves. Will you kindly scrap the previous prints in favour of the one enclosed. | ||
