c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 800a CONFIDENTIAL. 28th. March 1939. BY.20/N. Messrs. Park Ward & Co. Ltd., 473, High Road, Willesden, London N.W.10. Dear Sirs, Re: 4.B.50. You will recall that we told you during our last visit that we propose to fit a modernised front to the above car. A design of this front is shewn on PD.380 ( sheet 2) herewith. The radiator may be taken as the same as that of 11.B.5. with the shell just modified to allow the raised cat-walk. Actually we are designing the radiator and will send you a print when the scheme is completed. In the meantime we would be glad to receive from you a tracing shewing the line of the cat-walk on the bonnet valance strip, and also a tracing shewing the side elevation and sections of the front wing so that we can design the headlamps. On PD.380 (sht.2) we shew a still more advanced design of front which we would like you to mock-up on the 4.B.50 car, using the wings for that car, and making a dummy radiator cowl. We suggest that you make a special full-size drawing of this advanced front end, giving all three views, so that we can inspect the design during one of our visits. We suggest that the whole should be made in aluminium and nicely painted and polished, so as to give a true impression. Cont'd...... | ||
