FINISH OF BENTLEY ENGINE.

We have been attempting to build up a Bentley engine to show an alternative finish. The result is that the best and cheapest is the black enamel and dull nickel plating. If we attempt the scratch brush bright aluminium finish we have a finish which shows all oil stains and marks or blemishes in the castings.

The S.U. carburettors when not enamelled which we buy complete do not look nearly as good and if we ask for anything better it would mean extra cost.

As the finish of the Bentley engine is one of the outstanding points a decision will have to be made on this as soon as possible. We are preparing a final production model of a Bentley car for 10,000 miles in France.

We should like your views as regards how you think the engine should be finished. There is not much difficulty in deciding which is the best finish, and most economical, but there is difficulty in deciding on an alternative.
