Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}/S/JAB. 11th January 1937. PHANTOM III. COMPLAINTS. WABBLES. Both at Cricklewood and Paris Depots, recurrent cases of low speed wabbles have arisen. The latest split contacts in the cross steering tubes does not remain firm and is found to be turning in the housing. The load factor on these small spherical contacts of the cross steering tubes is too high and does not remain. A larger bearing surface is needed and the spring loading less highly stressed.
