To Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} X5770 E2/M1.1.27. 20 HP. 10-G-111. X.5770 X.7770 In reply to your memo. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 2/LG24.12.26., we should like to retain the above car, or another 20 HP., at WW. for the purpose of having a model of this chassis to refer to. We have a certain amount of design work to do on the 20 HP. which will come on later. We do not however require the car to be licenced. Before leaving for France Mr. Royce said he thought we might have EAC.7. down here for a short time. I have not yet had an opportunity of trying the engine on this chassis, and DA. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} will be interested to refer to it in connection with design work. These matters are of course entirely a question of your convenience, and the views of the economy committee are possibly met by not taking out the special licence for a car here.
