Gleason Skew Bevels for Rear Axle.
Origin.
To overcome noisy axles.
Experimental Test Report.
Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 2.1.20. Axle fitted with these gears has been run on the Dynamometer for 20 hours, the gears were in excellent condition at the finish.
Road Test Report.
An axle fitted with these type of gears was fitted to 7CA car in 1914. The car has run since then 11,000 to 12,000 miles. The gears were not quiet when first fitted, they have improved slightly with running.
