30th. November 1938.

Messrs. Ferodo Ltd.,
CHAPEL-EN-LE-FRITH.

For the attention of Mr. J.N.Longley.

Dear Sirs,

We are to-day returning to you a "Ferogrip" belt which you supplied to us some time ago, and which has been running on one of our test bed engines. After 50 minutes full throttle this belt persists in turning over in the pulley Vees, and while we admit that the pulley Vee angles are not quite correct, we have sectioned this belt to examine it and are returning the section belt herewith.

You will note that one of the cords is displaced, and this appears to have occurred in manufacture, and we presume this is the cause of the above trouble. The Piece No. of this belt is EB.3927, and we should be glad if you could let us have 3 of these belts made on your latest production equipment and include your latest ideas, at the earliest possible moment.

We ordered from you in our letter of Sept. 21st. 3 belts to our drawing EB.4202 and asked you to put in hand the mould for these. We wish to increase this order to 6 belts and would like to receive 3 of them at the earliest possible moment. Again, if possible, we should like these belts to be made to your latest production ideas. Perhaps you will ring the writer and let him know the position of this job.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
