R.R. 255 A (400 T) (S.C. 596. 15-5-16) G 1646. To EH. from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to BJ. ORIGINAL X.2631 X.3231 Re - 49-GB. X.2048 This car does not appear that it can ever be a complete After-the-War model, because of its unorthodox gearbox. Therefore it would appear rather extravagant to destroy the present 6-volt lighting tackle on it as it is serving its purpose well and is not of much use for any other car, unless it would be scrapping dynamo, battery, and lamps, unless these could be used up on some other chassis, because I believe you also have a starting motor of this same voltage, in this case you would be using the whole equipment.up. I do not think the 6-volt generator would be much use to me unless it were re-wound for twice the voltage. It would also mean re-winding the regulators. It does not appear that we have time to do this work at the present. [Signature] R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
