Sliding roofs, their suppliers, and new experimental sealing methods.

Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/EAG.9/ET.22.1.41. - 2 - now fitted would be removed. Also the front edge of the sliding roof should act as a stop and relieve the pressure on the taper at the front edge of the sliding panel. Appended is a list showing various makes of cars and types of sliding roofs fitted to them, which were being supplied just before the war, by Messrs. Weathershields who are the patentees. All our experimental cars are fitted with Autolift SR.500, with the exception of 9.B which has the SR.555 fitted. We are experimenting with a new method of excluding draught which, if successful, will dispense with the rubber sealing strips now used and, at the same time, will cover the gap which is now shown when the roof is closed.
