PN.{Mr Northey} BY9/G.6.12.27. 40/50 HP. GEAR LEVER 'C' STEERING. With reference to CWB9/GM.2.12.27. the present side lever mechanism is in accordance with Mr. Royce's designs, and the standardisation sheet dated 10/12/25 was signed up, after which a request was made for the 'C' type change gear lever to be the same length as 'B'. We then supplied Sales with a 'B' type lever for fitting to chassis 11-EX which Sales had in their possession, and which was fitted with 'C' type steering and side lever mechanism. A memo was afterwards received from Sales stating that they were satisfied with the 'B' type lever as tried on 11-EX, consequently a further standardisation sheet dated 20/11/26 was issued covering this change. From the foregoing it will be seen that the new side lever mechanism was only introduced on production after same had been agreed to by standardisation sheets. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
