Re: Ground Clearance for Colonial conditions.

With reference to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}4/KW.7.1.35, I have now received BY/Cgh{W Clough}5/G7.1.35, which makes it clear that the combined increased road clearance obtained by fitting 1" larger diameter wheels and special road springs is 1 1/2" and not 2".

The other points raised in BY/Cgh{W Clough}7/G2.1.35:-

1. Lower geared rear axle.
2. Geared starter motor.
3. Bonnet with shutters.

I shall be glad if you will let me know if these represent any new design work or any additional cost to the chassis in question.

We have already received figures showing the additional cost of the special road springs, which in themselves alone give 1" more ground clearance.
