X7350 We have adopted the position shewn in N.sch. 2652 for this damper, as it makes a much neater job of the installation than having the damper outside the frame. It would be of great assistance in dealing with customers peculiarities and springing complaints if the valve caps could be made so that we could remove them without having to detach the damper from the frame. By means of washers under the cap we could then adjust the high or low pressure loading without removing the valve spring. We should prefer to be able to do this without having to detach the air vent plug, as if we do this dirt may get on the ball seating or in the air vent. It appears to us that, by making the air vent plug flush with the top of the cap, shortening the threaded portion of the cap slightly and possibly lowering the face of the casting a little, the desired result could be achieved.
