To CY. from EFC. /3573 EFC2/T14.8.22. X.3513 - BAKELITE COMMUTATORS. /4333 Would you kindly let me know - (1) Whether moulded bakelite commutators are successfully made in U.S.A. for chassis dynamos, as well as starter motors. (2) If this is the case, whether the standard bakelite powder is used, which powder we are able to obtain in this country from the Damard Lacquer Company, or whether a special grade of bakelite powder, which gives a stronger result but is not so freely moulded, is used for this purpose, and if so, how we could obtain some of this special grade for experimental commutator purposes.
